Loading Akai sounds from CD ROM

Load CD into drive. [or floppy]

 

Select Upper 1 on screen [make sure all other Upper voices are off].

Press Settings [top of OAS screen.

Press OAS Database on centre of screen.

Press Sound Manager on screen.

Press Akai Import on screen.

You should now see a list for the Akai sounds already in the database or a blank column [on left side] if none are held!

The cloumn on the right should show what is on the CD [you may need to select Drive D: to open column] [or A: for floppy]

If none are listed, you must make a new folder to store these in; called Akai sounds:-

Press New Group [top of screen]. Name the group [as above] using the vitual keyboard to type the name in + press Enter to save this.

Open a folder in right hand column which should display more internal folders [each of which holds a sound].

Press the sound you wish to load.

When a sounds' name appears, press to select + hear it [press u/m keys]. It is not yet saved, only loaded!

If you like it, select a [next] vacant position in the list on the left side column [within Akai sounds User Group!].

It should now be saved for use or inclusion in a Preset

Press Back [Zuruck] [top rgt] to return to Main screen.

To retrieve sound, press Quickload/Sounds/Akai sounds [in User Group]/+ select from left hand list + press Load. [Can be incorporated into any Preset position as other sounds].

Rhythms etc. are similarly done but held in a different User section to sounds.

 

Delete a Preset by loading it then press Delete button in upper part of window [1st [+Factory] Presets cannot be deleted]

 

Rearrange Presets [ie User {you cannot alter Banks 1-50}]: simply load one and re-select each voice as required. Save new preset by holding down the button it came up on [or selecta new blank from Banks 51+..]
