Internet!! Whats That??
It has possibly been a
slightly misguided but understandable misconception, that if you
own an OAS instrument you must automatically, because of the
very nature of the instrument (computer operating system), be
internet connected.
People buying these
Instruments at this time may well do so for the potential of
using it in connection with the internet. But in the early days
of OAS I am sure we were buying them because they were a musical
instrument, not a computer.
Since this site has been
running the fact that there are non internet OAS and pre OAS
owners out there has become more apparent and these folks need
to be contacted so that they can be given the chance to join
WersiClub so we can help keep them up-to-date.
We now have our very first
non internet OAS owner as a member who is only too pleased that,
for the cost of a few postage stamps, we can provide monthly
news and information from the site.
There is no fee to become a
Member of WersiClub as all the information on the websites is
freely available, all we ask is that you register your details
with us.
However to cater for our
non internet owners a small amount of postage stamps would be
required from the member to cover postage and stationery costs
etc.
If you should know of a UK
Wersi owner that is not internet connected, can I please ask if
you would pass them my telephone number so that initial contact
can be made,
01737 823307
as for some strange reason,
we can't send an e.mail!!

Points to consider before and after upgrades &
repairs to the OAS system 14-4-08
In the
light of recent mails received regarding what should or should
not happen when their instruments are upgraded, in particular
upgrading from V6 to V7, I have asked Club member Bill Gray, who
is well known to us all for his expertise in computers and OAS,
if he would kindly produce an article for us outlining the main
points we should be aware of before upgrading takes place.
Bill has
done us proud here giving us a very detailed but easy to
understand overview of procedure plus many other points to look
for. All of which will help to reassure us when embarking on a
major upgrade that all will be ok and that the upgrade we
receive is the upgrade we expected.
In the
article Bill does advise us to keep all the system, upgrade and
any additional programme discs you may have purchased,
and their respective activation codes, in a safe place in case anything
unforeseen should happen. Receipts for upgrades, sound packages etc.
should also be kept as proof of purchase in case needed.
Once
again my thanks to Bill for providing this information for us.
You will
find the article on the OAS Page

Thanks To Members
I would like to
take this opportunity to thank all the members that kindly
replied to my initial e.mail, introducing yourselves and sending
your best wishes for the site and the Club, and also to welcome
our three new members, George, Paul & Peter.
Boring to say but
also very true, ultimately the success of any Club depends on
the enthusiasm of its members, so please do continue to
participate in any way you can so that, with a little help from
"WersiClub", we can all enhance our enjoyment and further our
knowledge of our Wersi instruments.
Also my
thanks to all who sent in your song titles for "Bretts
Preset Offer" The list has now been sent to the "old chap"
(he's nearly 30
now you know, how old is
that!!) so
we will now wait and see what the master comes up with for us.
When
they are ready I will put a notice on the home page with details
of how to obtain them.

Changes of e.mail addresses
We have
a few members that we have regrettably lost contact with. If any
member viewing has changed their e.mail address since first
contacting Colin last April, could you please let us have your
new address so we can continue to keep you up to date.
Many
thanks
